At F. Kröpfl Obsthandelsgesellschaft mbH, we have had our climate targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), underscoring our commitment to climate action and responsibility. We combine the highest standards in fruit logistics with a clear focus on measurably reducing our CO₂e footprint and actively contributing to a more sustainable future.
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global partnership that supports companies in setting science-based climate targets. These targets are based on the latest climate science, including the findings of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), and ensure that greenhouse gas emission reductions are aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement – namely, limiting global warming to well below 2°C and pursuing efforts to limit it to 1.5°C. Through SBTi target validation, companies commit to implementing concrete measures to reduce their CO₂e emissions.
F. Kröpfl Obsthandelsgesellschaft mbH is committed to reducing its absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 46.2% by 2031, compared to the base year 2022. In addition, we are committed to measuring and reducing our Scope 3 emissions.
To achieve this target, we have developed a clear roadmap outlining defined reduction measures and our pathway toward continuous and measurable emissions reduction
To achieve our climate goals step by step, we have defined concrete measures for each emission sector.
When purchasing vehicles, we place special emphasis on selecting models with maximum efficiency. Furthermore, we organize our transport operations to ensure full capacity utilization and avoid empty runs. We also use waste heat from our cooling systems, allowing us to completely avoid purchasing additional fuel for heating.
We use existing roof and open spaces to expand our photovoltaic systems so that we can increasingly generate our own electricity. We will cover our remaining energy requirements entirely with certified green electricity by 2030.
The STBI certification confirms our commitment to genuine sustainability: with clear measures to reduce CO₂ emissions and responsible use of resources, we are shaping the future of our fruit trade.

The calculation of our CO₂e footprint forms the basis of our climate strategy. It covers all relevant company-related emissions in accordance with the internationally recognized Greenhouse Gas Protocol Corporate Standard and is based on our company’s operational boundaries. The calculation includes all Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions as well as the key Scope 3 categories that arise along our value chain. A materiality screening was conducted to identify the relevant Scope 3 categories.

• Scope 1 covers direct emissions from our own operations, e.g., from our vehicle fleet or company-owned facilities.
• Scope 2 includes indirect emissions from energy consumption, particularly from purchased electricity or heat.
• Scope 3 encompasses all other indirect emissions that occur outside
This balance provides a transparent overview of our main emission sources and serves as a solid foundation for defining targeted reduction measures and effectively achieving our climate goals.
